Stanford Day 3 Group 1
Today, we had The Message in the Music with Ashley. We all
chose our personal anthem and interpreted the message behind. It was really
intriguing to understand the reason why everyone thought their songs could
really encourage them. We also learnt about the art of persuasion making use of
ethos, pathos and logos, which was how music really affected and conveyed its
message to people. We even created our own playlist with a story and
interpreted others’ playlists. It was definitely fun to let our creative juices
flow.
After lunch, we had Democracy: Why or Why not. We discussed
the history of democracy and many pros and cons of different types of democracy
such as representative and direct democracy. We learnt to see different
perspectives of one thing. We even had a mini debate! The lesson was absolutely
fun and fruitful for us.
We then had multicultural exhibition preparation. We all
were so nervous about the impromptu skit we added yesterday night. After
dinner, it was the multicultural exhibition. It was great. The performances of
various countries were fascinating, introducing multiple cultures, languages,
and food. Our skit went pretty well! We walked booth to booth, finding out more
about many cultures. We were also really glad to see people enjoying our own
lantern-making booth. We all learnt how although we were of different
countries, we were all connected in one way or another. To sum up, it was a
really fun experience and a great day.
