Stanford Tour 2018 Day 8 Group 6

Stanford Tour 2018 Day 8 Group 6

17th July, 2018

We started off the day with a visit to the digital anatomy lab tour and we had a neuroscience class in the afternoon. Then, we had a college panel talk and a fire pit night with our international friends.

The digital anatomy lab tour was very eye opening for us, as we never had a chance to see those organs in real life, like the hearts, lungs and brains. It builds on the knowledge we learnt in  biology lesson, which made it extra meaningful for us. We got to learn about the structures and functions of various organs. We were amazed by the complexity of the human body and the knowledge the instructors have.

Next, we had a neuroscience class. It was quite complicated as we haven’t really learnt about the human brain before. But the doctor was very patient and explained every detail to us until we finally understood. Although it’s very challenging for us, we still had fun in learning about the structures and functions of the brain.

The college panel talk inspired us to work hard just like our residential counsellors who were very successful in their studies and future careers.  We understand that we should not give up no matter what challenges we meet ahead. We should put our best efforts in everything we try and strive for excellence.

The highlight of the day was definitely the fire pit night, where we got the chance to crowd around the campfire and make smores. We also took breathtaking photos of the sunset with our international friends and had a great time catching up with each other. We played several games together and had the time of our lives.

In conclusion, we had a great time with the professors and friends today. It’s also the last few days that we get to stay in Stanford, we all are sad to leave this amazing place.
