Stanford Tour 2018 Day 11 Group 6
Stanford Tour 2018 Day 11 Group 6
20th July, 2018
This is the last day at Stanford having the regular schedule. We had our last two classes of dadaist games and optical phenomena, which were very interactive and aroused our interests. In the evening, we had a cluster dinner with our international friends. We all had a great time with our new friends.
The class with Ms. Margaret was really good, as we got to do a lot of experimenting. After a lecture on surrealism, dada, and the timeline of the Victorian era; we got started on our first game, where we had to make up a short story leaving blanks, and getting our friends to fill in the blanks with the correct part of speech. The outcomes were truly hilarious. After a break, we started with the second activity. Ms. Margaret gave us random pieces of papers filled with words, and we had to choose words that interest us and use those to create a sentence. We had an enjoyable time.
In the afternoon, we had optical phenomena class with Ms. Gennifer. She used an interactive approach to teach us more about the theories and introduced us to many intriguing experiments. There are originally many group members who do not take physics, but after this lesson, they all have a new-found interest in physics. Without a doubt, we have gained a lot of knowledge on the electromagnetic spectrum, behaviours and properties of light.
At night, the cluster dinner was truly a wonderful chance for us to gather with our new friends, share our different cultures and thoughts, and to enjoy ourselves. We again experienced how people from different countries can come together to learn and communicate with one another despite our differences. We had a fun time mingling with them and share our feelings about our GSP project.
At last, we had our final GSP presentation preparation. We finished up the posters and prepared the presentation for tomorrow. It was a fruitful but tiring experience. We hope that our presentation will go well tomorrow.
In conclusion, we had a wonderful time with our friends and we will remember all the valuable lessons we have learnt in previous 2 weeks.
