Stanford Tour 2018 Day 3 Group 6
#Ice-cream is really good !!!!
12th July, 2018
The day started with the leadership training and we had cancer genomics workshop after lunch. Throughout the lessons, we learnt a lot about relationships between humankind and different types of cancers, of genes, as well as the cause and formation of the cancer from a typical, normal cell.
We learnt to be frank about our feelings deep inside our hearts to our families and friends. We also learnt that there is never one single story and that we often dramatize stories. Moreover, we learnt that we should not be blinded by our emotions and that we should think logically and reasonably, as we often over or wrongly interpret events in our lives.
Our second lesson is about genomics, data and cancer. We studied the formation of cancer, the age and gender distribution of various types of cancers, and how to find the genes that cause
different types of cancers. Cancer is a serious disease in many countries, thus knowing more about it is especially important nowadays. We learnt to use various channels to find information and acquired medical knowledge in a fun way.
