Stanford Day 6 Group 3

After breakfast, some of us went around the campus and took many beautiful pictures together. We went to the place in front of the Stanford Bookstore: The Claw. It is a fountain which looks like a claw. It was spectacular and we took turns snapping away. We even saw a rainbow near the water as the weather was sunny! I felt splendid as I've never seen a rainbow in my life before.

Afterwards, we got on the bus and went to the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. We got to see different kinds of animals such as penguins, fish and butterflies. Our group also went and tried on a simulation of an earthquake, and it was a new experience for all of us. We bought some souvenirs and we had a good time there.

Next, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge. On the bus, I got to know more about the city life in San Francisco as I watched cars passing by on the road and people casually walking on the streets. The duration of the bus ride was long, but it was worth-seeing it because the scenery was magnificent! We took many pictures and created beautiful memories together.

Then, we went to the Fishermen's Wharf. We tried oreo churros there and bought some souvenirs for our families and friends. We had a fun time, but it was a pity that we only stayed there for 45 minutes. It would have been better if we could stay for a longer time, but we still enjoyed our time there.

After dinner, our group stayed at our house and busy ourselves with playing cards in our free time. Afterwards, we went around the campus and took pictures again, this time of the sunset. The sky was spectacular as it was a hue of pink. We enjoyed each other's company and had a great time. Then we went back to the house and had an activity of '2 truths and a lie'. Through this activity, we learnt more about each other's facts.

Surprise! Today was Bridget and Selina's birthday. We held a mini-birthday party in the house together. We sang birthday songs, and we had cup cakes and ice-cream together. It was a fun and enjoyable gathering in Stanford. Thank you Simone and everyone! Happy birthday, Bridget and Selina!

Today we started off as usual with breakfast. However, after such a mundane everyday task, we had the opportunity to visit the famous SLAC laboratory just a couple minutes' drive away. The only word the lab could be described as was awe-inspiring. Although we had quite a hard time in understanding the terminology the tour guide used, it was still an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The metal tubes that housed the accelerators were rather massive and we were a little surprised at how much work and effort went into making sure each measurement and result was precisely accurate. The time we spent there was a bit on the short side though. We just wish we could have stayed there longer. Nevertheless, the pressed pennies will definitely serve as an item of sentiment. Stanford Tour 2018 Group 6 Day 2

Stanford tour 2018 Group 6 Day 2 11th July, 2018 It’s our first day in Stanford. We did quite a lot of things throughout the day, having our first lesson in Stanford, meeting new friends from different parts of the world, touring around Stanford and conducting joint exercises to know more about, not just people around us, but also ourselves while doing such exercises. Our first lesson in Stanford is about Design Thinking. We think it is very important for us, because it inspire us to jump out of the box, jump outside or comfort zone and jumpstart our brains to brainstorm out imaginative ideas. We all think that Design Thinking is very important, because it really helps us to know how to deal with our Global Solution Project(GSP). Stanford Tour 2018 Day 8 Group 6

Stanford Tour 2018 Day 8 Group 6 17th July, 2018 We started off the day with a visit to the digital anatomy lab tour and we had a neuroscience class in the afternoon. Then, we had a college panel talk and a fire pit night with our international friends. The digital anatomy lab tour was very eye opening for us, as we never had a chance to see those organs in real life, like the hearts, lungs and brains. It builds on the knowledge we learnt in  biology lesson, which made it extra meaningful for us. We got to learn about the structures and functions of various organs. We were amazed by the complexity of the human body and the knowledge the instructors have. Next, we had a neuroscience class.
