Stanford Tour 2018 day 9 gp 3
Designing our own backpacks
18th July 2018
Our 9th day started
off with the Business and Entrepreneurship class instructed by Raj Bhargava. The
class was surprisingly fun and amazing as we had the chance to design our own
backpack company. We were only given a limited amount of time to finish various
tasks, it seemed impossible for us to complete them but we managed to do so at
last and we were all proud of ourselves. It was truly enjoyable listening to
presentations of creative backpack designs. This lesson was definitely informative
and incredible.
After lunch, we had our second social science related
lesson: circular economy, with Anne-Laure Strong. It was a little bit different
from what we learnt in economics lessons at school, it was a combination of
Liberal Studies and Economics. People nowadays were focusing on linear economy,
but neglect the crucial fact that protecting our environment and conserving our scarce natural resources were also essential. We were also able to apply what we learnt
in the business lesson this morning to this lesson. We were all really glad
to learn more about circular economy.
