Stanford Tour 2018 Day 8 Group 3
we headed off to the digital anatomy laboratory and we benefited a lot
through this tour. Scholars from Stanford who study medicine taught us a lot on
anatomy and we learnt about different function of body parts through observing
the organs of the corpse. Visiting the laboratory not only reinforced our knowledge about anatomy but also made us to admire the sacrificial spirit of those who were willing to offer their body for medical research. We got a
chance to virtually dissect through a virtual projector,
the anatomage. We were honoured to visit this spectacular Stanford medical
school.
After lunch, we had the “optical phenomena”
lesson and it was truly inspiring and mind-blowing. We had numerous activities
that echoed with our academic studies. We learnt about the properties and
behaviours of light waves such as reflection, refraction, dispersion, polarization
through engaging in various activities. We categorized the m&m beans according to their colours
under different coloured lights. It was
one of the most engaging lessons that we have had so far and it piqued our
interest in the study of Light.
We
then had a panel talk and UGA talk about the admission to Stanford University. It was extremely informative and we received valuable
advice from past and current students on the admission, the application procedures and also the interview. They shared their
incredible, unique experiences here at Stanford, where their ups and downs
appealed to us, and raised our interests in getting into Stanford University.
